After retiring early from the legal profession, Pamela Tan Nicholson turned to the music business and started a boutique recording enterprise under an independent label to fill a niche in the market. Until then, multinational labels tended to focus on everyone’s favourite classics re-recorded endlessly by different artists with largely similar profiles. Trittico invested in 'new and different' which required more ‘live’ marketing events for its steadily growing stable of artists and new catalogue; this led organically to the company undertaking the promotion and production of 'live' events and performance tours. The company grew to encompass other areas of interest in the leisure industry as success in its original ventures interested new clients and brands in related industries from both the public and private sectors of different countries. Trittico continues to provide a range of support services and resources to meet the marketing objectives and operational needs of its artists, its corporate customers and institutional clients.
After signing on initially as a recording artist, Vasko Vassilev’s creative involvement in Trittico has grown beyond developing his own repertoire to doing the same for other artists and projects. In 1993 he was appointed formally as Artistic Director in the company. Working closely alongside Pamela Tan Nicholson, Vassilev has contributed hugely to the company’s growth. He joined the Board in 1999 to undertake increasing responsibility for managing talent and clients. Since then, he has expanded the company's activities from producing and managing events and tours. Under his leadership, the company now operates long-term contracts for ongoing residencies and artistic directorships for music festivals, venues and subscription programmes in different locations across Europe and Asia.
In 2022, Pamela Tan Nicholson stepped down as Managing Director, making way for Vasko Vassilev to lead the company to further their common objectives: and as well to develop in new directions artistically and commercially.
