Miguel Angel Navarro

CONDUCTOR

Miguel started his musical career as an outstanding trumpeter and was Principal of the Barcelona and the Asturias symphony orchestras. Both as an instrumentalist and as a renowned conductor of wind bands and orchestras he won numerous top prizes year in and year out in the most prestigious national competitions.  As a symphonic conductor, he has worked all over the world in England, Malaysia, Italy, Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Greece, Poland, Bulgaria, Thailand, Mexico, Brunei and Vietnam. He is closely affiliated with National Greek TV Orchestra,  Baltic Neopolis Orchestra (Poland), Oviedo Filarmonia, ADDA Simfònica Orquestra, Orquesta de Valencia, Banda Primitiva de Llíria, Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán (Mexico), Philarmonic Orchestra of Thessaloniki (Greece) and with the Covent Garden Soloists Orchestra where is principal conductor since 2021.

 

Over a career of many years, he has also recorded more than 30 albums with many of the greatest names in classical music and more recently he has collaborated on recordings of jazz repertoire with pianist Keito Saito and trumpeter David Pastor. Alongside symphonic concerts, Miguel has also worked on film and theatrical musical productions with famed directors such as Jose Luis Garci, Emilio Sagi and Llorens Barber. He holds a Doctorate Cum Laude in History and Science of Music and is regularly invited to lecture and teach. Important institutions such as the Royal School of Music in London, the Macedonia University and the Aristotelius University of Thessaloniki.
