Tony Cantero
GUITARIST
Tony Cantero is a flamenco guitarist from Malaga. He was a founder-member of the original Chambao which created the flamenco chill genre and won the Premio de la Musica in 2007 with the album ‘Con otro Aire’. This kick-started 12 years of intensive touring of Spanish and South American rock arenas.
This was followed by an introduction to Vasko Vassilev, which led Cantero to delve into a new body of music with classical influences, largely created by Pamela Tan Nicholson featuring Vasko as a soloist. Over ten years, Tony participated in a range of recordings and concert tours taking him to other parts of the world to perform with orchestras in concert halls. In 2016, Tony Cantero settled in Lanzarote immersing himself in the local music scene, where he formed Blue Candela with Jessica Abu. He has also established a career as a soloist with his Crossover Guitar ‘live’ sessions, which he also takes on tour outside his beloved Lanzarote and beyond Spain.
